The Beginning

Currently, an applicant’s résumé may be the determining factor between them and other competitive candidates. Grammatical errors, cluttered narratives, and poor sentence structure are just a few elements identified by Selecting Officials that may hinder potential opportunities with a company. In addition, performing satisfactorily or above within interviews can prove to be challenging.

Throughout my years in the workforce, I observed how résumés and interviews can be incredibly crucial to an employee’s ability to advance within the agency. Between coordinating interviews, functioning as the Lead Interviewer, and serving as a member of several panels, I was responsible for reviewing each candidate’s résumé, learning about their employment history, and evaluating their skillset. This experience increased my knowledge and expanded my perspective as it relates to the various evaluation and selection processes. As such, I determined that after publishing my three (3) novels of fiction, I wanted to provide people with more than a temporary suspension of disbelief.

Securing employment can fluctuate, as filling out an one-page application is no longer the primary method of applying for positions. Instead, companies favor detailed résumés and an evaluation of your interpersonal skills via the interview process. Typically, résumé editing and interview coaching services can be costly. Such expenses prove difficult and may even be unaffordable for individuals that are struggling financially, unemployed, or retired, having not touched their résumé for decades nor participated in any interviews. These were a few of the inspirations that contributed to the development of Al’s Résumé Services.
